I spent the day with Samuel Larsen in Los Angeles, capturing several editorial concepts.
I wanted the overall feeling to be organic, raw, and have a 90’s grunge tone.
To do this, the photoshoot was primarily shot on 120 film with natural and/or continuous light. I used a Black Pro Mist filter, stacked with a Starburst filter.
From a technical stand point, I wanted to explore different film stocks (Lomography, Ilford HP5 Plus, and Portra) and how they mix with digital and each other.
By the end of the day, I captured nearly 2,000 digital images and 40 images on film. The digital shots were great, but the majority of my favorites images were shot on the Pentax 6×7.
